Community Outreach Team

NATAL’s Community Outreach Unit works in conflict zones across the country providing seminars and workshops on coping with trauma. The unit’s goals are to strengthen and develop resources of individuals, families, groups and communities.

The workshops are intended for three primary groups:

  • Professionals who treat trauma victims (psychologists, social workers, educators, health professionals etc.)
  • Rescue teams who are exposed to traumatic events through their work.
  • Populations at risk of exposure directly or indirectly to traumatic events.

Mobile Unit

The Mobile Unit is the “first responder” of the Community Outreach Unit and provides psychological first aid to those in need during Israel’s crises.

The Unit travels across Israel providing free psychological and emotional care to victims of terror and war, in coordination with Welfare and Social Services in communities such as Sderot and the Gaza Perimeter.

Head of the Community Outreach Unit, Dr Rony Berger, delivering a resiliency seminar to ZAKA volunteers. They are exposed to trauma in the course of their work as they collect pieces of bodies after a terrorist attack.
